Pierre Jeanneret CASSINA

Pierre Jeanneret CASSINA

When artisan mastery delivers the perfect symmetry between inimitable design and functionality.

As I always balance on the line which comes out of ordinary, in this post I want to bring you closer to a milestone point in the history of architecture and design. My favorite Pierre Jeanneret. One of the ingenious minds behind the Capitol Complex, a majestic architectural work built in Chandigarh, India, in 1951. Pierre was given the task to create the interior design and the furniture collection for the building with his cousin Le Corbusier. Outcome of his refined genius was a phenomenal set of iconic pieces, marked by the special inverted ā€œVā€ sidebars. One of the most well-known creation from the Capitol Complex is an office chair developed by Cassina in hommage to Pierre Jeanneret.

The imponent, edgy collection is made of solid wood structure and characteristic Viennese woven straw, that conjure up the special spirit of the place and form a simple yet powerful whole.
